Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor also known as a producer, director and actress. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The movie Piano has won several awards for her including an Oscar. The successful actress began her career in acting on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. She is a lover of acting from the time she started high school. Her first role in a production in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear due to the mumps virus, however she did not permit this to deter the determination of her to become an actor. When she was a teenager She studied acting and eventually moved in New York City. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Hunter made the move into Los Angeles and tried to get movie parts. The film, Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Her career spans more than 30 years and she's appeared in many TV movies as well as series and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
